Motivated by deep concern for their children’s welfare, helicopter parents fend off hardships and keep potential upsets from affecting their children, generally unaware of how their constant interventions undermine their children’s resilience and sturdiness in the long run. This is a familiar term describing moms and dads who are excessively involved in their children’s lives and tend to be overprotective, hovering over their children’s every move.
